About Gillian Armour
Gillian is a Certified Image Professional (one of only 90 in the world) by AICI (the Association of Image Consultants International) and has over two decades of experience in private image, fashion and style client consulting for corporations, TV, social mavens and "C" level executives. Gillian's career in fashion has ranged from positions in corporate management, fashion director and retail buying (Macy's, I. Magnin, House of Fraser/London). Her career in fashion manufacturing includes executive positions in management, inventory control, planning and fabric buyer (Jessica McClintock, Byer California, Esprit, and Gap). As a stylist she has completed successful projects in Hollywood, Paris, Amsterdam and London with celebrity clients, luxury fashion brands as well as commercial photographers and videographers.
Gillian has been a successful TV presenter (award winning NBC production for two seasons of Dream Makeover Hawaii) and is an expert on fashion related image and style topics. She is a published author of over 18 books on fashion, style and image (available on Amazon) and many articles and is a go-to resource for journalists and bloggers. She is the founder of both Fashion Training Academy (fashion merchandising, management and design courses) and a successful internet venture called Fashion Stylist Institute (FSI), focused on online training in image consulting and fashion styling. FSI helps men and women across the globe become successful in the image style field. To date FSI has certified and trained over 1500 graduates.
Gillian is a professional speaker with the National Speakers Association and the past president of the Association of Image Consultants Bay Area. She is a graduate of F.I.D.M. Los Angeles with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Management. Her most recent board positions included Fashion Group International (San Francisco), Junior League (San Francisco) and FIDM Alumni, (San Francisco).
